The World Poker Tour (WPT) has officially unveiled the dates for the highly anticipated WPT World Championship 2025, confirming its return to Wynn Las Vegas this December. The action-packed festival will run from December 2 to 22, closing out Season 23 in spectacular fashion.
The highlight of the series, the $10,400 WPT World Championship, kicks off on December 13 with three starting flights and plays down to its final six contenders on December 19. After a one-day break, the final table will play out on December 21, where one player will capture poker glory and a potentially life-changing payday.
“The WPT World Championship is a true celebration of poker, and Wynn Las Vegas has proven to be the ultimate stage,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “We look forward to welcoming players from around the world to compete for life-changing sums of money and their chance to make history.”

WPT Prime Championship Returns
Running alongside the Main Event, the WPT Prime Championship will feature four starting flights from December 7 to 10, with Day 2 on December 11. The field will be whittled down to a final six on December 12, with the championship decided at a delayed televised final table on December 20.
While the full side event schedule has yet to be released, WPT has promised “special announcements” in the coming weeks, fueling speculation about new formats, guarantees, or player incentives.
Poker’s December Heavyweight Clash: WPT vs WSOP Paradise
Just like in recent years, the WPT World Championship will go head-to-head with WSOP Paradise — creating one of the fiercest December poker calendars in history.
The 2025 WSOP Paradise, held from December 4 to 18, will feature the $25,000 Super Main Event with a record-breaking $60 million guarantee — the largest prize pool ever offered in poker. Last year, WSOP narrowly missed its $50 million guarantee, but this year’s boost sets the stage for an even more ambitious battle.
WSOP Paradise will also feature elite high roller and super high roller events, many in partnership with Triton Poker, including:
- Dec 4 – $2,500 WSOP Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty
- Dec 5 – $100K Triton PLO Main Event
- Dec 7 – $250K Triton Invitational
- Dec 9 – $100K Triton NLHE Main Event
- Dec 15 – $25K GGMillion$
Adding more intrigue, free entry into the opening event will be awarded to all WSOP Circuit ring winners between July 1 and December 2, 2025.

What to Expect in December 2025
The WPT vs WSOP Paradise rivalry is set to dominate the poker headlines, with both brands aiming to draw the world’s top pros and ambitious amateurs. While WPT hasn’t confirmed if the 2025 World Championship will feature a guarantee — after missing its $40 million target in 2023 and switching to a $5 million Invitational freeroll in 2024 — anticipation is building for their upcoming announcement.
For poker fans, December 2025 in Las Vegas promises a historic month of high-stakes action, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable final tables. Whether you’re chasing a title or watching from the rail, the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas is shaping up to be the ultimate poker showdown.
