Last weekend, renowned actor Jeremy Renner hosted a celebrity charity poker event at the Venetian Las Vegas. The $300 buy-in Heroes Fore Kids Celebrity Poker Showdown, part of a charity weekend benefiting the RennerVation Foundation, attracted 59 players and raised significant funds for the nonprofit organization.
Renner, known for his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and films like The Hurt Locker and Wind River, did not participate in the poker tournament but was actively involved in the event, mingling with players, posing for photos, and supporting the cause. The event also featured appearances from actor Richard Kind and poker personality Joey Ingram.
The final table of the tournament saw a number of familiar faces, including Connor Woodland, who had qualified for the event through a PokerNews Podcast Meet-Up Game (MUG) tournament. Woodland finished in sixth place, while Ingram placed ninth.
After a three-handed deal, Michael Russell emerged as the champion, securing a significant cash prize and a Ritmo Mundo watch. The tournament raised a substantial amount of money for the RennerVation Foundation, which was founded by Jeremy Renner in 2023 to serve disadvantaged youth in northern Nevada.
About the RennerVation Foundation
The RennerVation Foundation was established by Jeremy Renner after a near-fatal car accident in January 2023. The nonprofit organization aims to create a community where all children feel valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their dreams. Through its programs and services, the foundation provides children with opportunities for growth, belonging, and joy.
The charity poker event was a successful fundraiser for the RennerVation Foundation and showcased the power of community and philanthropy. As the foundation continues to expand its efforts, it is likely that future charity events will be held to raise even more funds and awareness for its important mission.
