The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) brought high-stakes action to Horseshoe Las Vegas, running from November 21 to December 3. Across two weeks, 18 championship rings were awarded, with over $1.8 million in total prizes distributed. The highlight of the series was the $1,700 buy-in Main Event, where David Jackson emerged victorious, claiming the championship ring and a massive $139,996 payday.

    A Decorated Champion

David Jackson, hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, added this Main Event title to his impressive poker résumé. Already a seasoned pro, Jackson boasts a WSOP bracelet from the 2022 $3,000 NLH Freezeout event and career earnings of over $4.7 million. His latest triumph cements his place as one of the most consistent players in the game.

    The Road to Glory

The Main Event saw a stacked field, with notable names battling for the ring. Ryan Leng began the final day as the chip leader among the 11 remaining players. However, poker is unpredictable, and Leng finished in fifth place, pocketing $32,526.

Upeshka De Silva and Maksym Lavrov were eliminated just shy of the final table. De Silva, ever the grinder, promptly entered the $3,300 High Roller event and secured an eighth-place finish there.

When the dust settled, it was Jackson and Yaniv Livnat who squared off heads-up for the title. After an intense two-hour duel, the final hand saw Jackson holding J♣ 7♦, while Livnat had 8♣ 7♣. The flop came 7♠ 2♣ 6♣, giving both players top pair but Jackson the lead with a better kicker. Despite Livnat’s flush draw, no more clubs landed on the turn or river. Jackson’s hand held, and he claimed the championship.

    The Rise of David Jackson

David Jackson, an accomplished poker professional from Jacksonville, Florida, continues to build an illustrious career. With two WSOP bracelets, one WSOPC ring, and career earnings exceeding $4.7 million, Jackson is no stranger to success.

His journey in live tournaments began in 2009, but his breakout years came later. In 2019, he dominated at the Borgata, winning the Spring Open $2,500 Championship for $304,929 and the Fall Poker Open Championship for $211,334.

Jackson’s WSOP successes have further solidified his reputation. He captured his first bracelet in 2021 by winning the $777 Lucky Sevens online event for $194,178. Just a year later, he added a second bracelet by defeating poker legend Phil Hellmuth in Event #65: $3,000 Freezeout at the 2022 WSOP.

Additionally, Jackson has seen success in other poker circuits. In 2022, he shared the spotlight by chopping the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Main Event three ways with Connor Stuewe and Aaron Massey, taking home $154,589.

    Looking Ahead

As the WSOPC Horseshoe Las Vegas concluded, the series heads to Harrah’s Cherokee, which began on November 28 and runs until December 9. This marks the final stop of 2024 before the circuit resumes in January 2025 at Choctaw Durant.

David Jackson’s win at Horseshoe Las Vegas is a testament to his skill, resilience, and determination. With another ring and $140,000 in winnings, he continues to solidify his legacy in the world of poker.
