    Chen Snags First APT Title in High Roller Showdown, Freezing Out 29 Others

    PHU QUOC, VIETNAM, November 8, 2024 – Chinese poker pro Mingcong Chen celebrated his first-ever APT title in style by taking down Event #3, the Single Day High Roller – Freezeout. This victory is a big milestone for Chen, who has already amassed over $400,000 in live tournament winnings. After a hard-fought battle against 30 other contenders, Chen walked away with a hefty VND 484,520,000 (around $19,075).

    In a showdown of talent, fellow Chinese player Yankai Zhang came close, grabbing the runner-up spot and a solid VND 333,920,000

    Russian poker star Daniil Shalaev hit the ground running in Phu Quoc, scooping up his third APT title in Event #2, PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card (Big O). Fresh off a hot streak in Manila, Shalaev showed his skills once again, defeating six other competitors and claiming the top prize of VND 34,807,900 (around $1,370). Japan’s Hayashi Kentaro also cashed in with the runner-up prize of VND 19,580,000 (~$771).
