    A Competitive Tournament

The $2,025 No-Limit Hold’em New Year Special attracted 149 players, with a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool up for grabs. The top 17 finishers shared the pool, and the competition was fierce right from the start. As the field narrowed down, “tomfoxpoker” was eliminated in 18th place, just missing out on a significant payout. When Swedish poker legend Simon “C. Darwin2” Mattsson was eliminated in 10th, it set the stage for an intense final table.

The final table saw a dramatic series of eliminations. Manuel “BigFudge95” Fritz was the first to exit, followed by Christian “WATnlos” Rudolph and Ognyan “cocojamb0” Dimov, who were all knocked out before “Ansel21” went out in 6th place. Finnish pro Tomi “elmerixx” Brouk finished in 5th, and “Sintoras” secured 4th place, taking home $29,213.

    The Heads-Up Showdown

The tournament’s heads-up battle featured Nemeth against “Eimantasa”. After an intense back-and-forth, Nemeth emerged victorious, claiming the $62,970 top prize. Eimantasa walked away with a well-earned $48,747 for second place. This victory adds to Nemeth’s impressive career earnings, which also include a strong finish at EPT Prague in December 2024.

    Other Noteworthy Winners

Since the beginning of 2025, the online poker scene has seen several big victories. Rayan “Beriuzy” Chamas topped a field of 2,205 players in a $202.50 edition of the New Year Special, claiming a prize of $64,976. In addition, Simon “C. Darwin2” Mattsson followed up his 10th-place finish with a $530 No-Limit Hold’em PKO victory, earning $19,040. “I Attack95” also secured a $43,867 win in the $1,050 Thursday Thrill, including bounties.
