The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) is set to make an electrifying return to Harrah’s Pompano Beach in just two weeks. Poker enthusiasts from around the country are gearing up for an action-packed festival featuring 18 WSOPC ring events and nearly daily satellite tournaments. This highly anticipated series, running from January 30 to February 10, promises intense competition, high-stakes drama, and life-changing payouts.

A Festival Packed with Exciting Events

Kicking off the series on January 30 is the Double Stack Opener, a $400 No-Limit Hold’em event that boasts a 40,000 starting stack and a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. However, this is just the beginning of what promises to be one of the most lucrative WSOPC stops of the season. In total, the series will offer an astonishing $2,775,000 in guaranteed prize money across multiple events.

Some of the marquee tournaments include:

    • $600 Mini-Main Event – Featuring a massive $400,000 guaranteed prize pool.
    • $1,100 Mystery Bounty – Offering a guaranteed $250,000.
    • $1,700 Main Event – The crown jewel of the festival, carrying a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

With these enormous guarantees, the turnout is expected to be overwhelming, making competition for the coveted WSOP Circuit gold rings fiercer than ever.

High Turnout Expected for Major Events

To accommodate the large player fields, several of the key events will have multiple Day 1 flights:

    • The $1,700 Main Event will have two Day 1 flights.
    • The $400 Monster Stack will feature three Day 1 flights.
    • Event #11: $400 No-Limit Hold’em will have four starting flights.

This format ensures that players of all levels have ample opportunity to take their shot at a WSOPC ring while navigating through packed fields.

    Exclusive and Specialty Events

Alongside the major tournaments, WSOPC Harrah’s Pompano Beach will host three exclusive closed-field events:

    • Ladies Event – A tournament exclusively for female players.
    • Seniors Event – Open to players aged 50 and older.
    • 40/40/40 Event – A unique event where entrants must be over 40 years old, start with a 40,000-chip stack, and play with 40-minute blind levels.

For Omaha enthusiasts, there are two exciting tournaments: a traditional Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) event and a Big O event (a five-card variation of PLO).

    Satellite Opportunities and Online Qualifiers

For those looking to secure a seat in the higher buy-in events at a fraction of the cost, Harrah’s Pompano Beach will be running live satellite tournaments almost daily in its poker room. Additionally, online qualifiers will give players a chance to win entry into key events without having to travel.

Looking Back: WSOPC Pompano Beach 2024 Recap

The last time the WSOP Circuit visited Harrah’s Pompano Beach was earlier in the 2024/2025 season, culminating in an unforgettable Main Event that wrapped up on October 12, 2024. The champion, Ian Cohen, took home a prestigious WSOPC ring along with a whopping $193,100 in first-place prize money.

Cohen, a seasoned player with 30 tournament victories at Harrah’s Pompano Beach, dominated the final table and entered heads-up play with a six-to-one chip lead against Josh Hillock. Hillock, known for his social and lighthearted table presence, faced an uphill battle with limited chips. Despite his resilience, Cohen ultimately sealed the victory when his J♦ 10♦ cracked Hillock’s pocket queens, clinching the title.

Hillock still walked away with an impressive $128,728 for his efforts, while Cohen’s triumph cemented his status as a formidable force in the Pompano Beach poker scene.

The Road Ahead for the WSOP Circuit

While players eagerly await the start of WSOPC Harrah’s Pompano Beach, the poker action continues elsewhere. Currently, the WSOP Circuit is underway at Thunder Valley, where eight more events, including the prestigious $1,700 Main Event, are yet to be decided.

Following that, the Circuit will move to Horseshoe Tunica in Mississippi from January 23 to February 3, offering yet another opportunity for players to chase WSOPC rings and massive payouts.

The Harrah’s Pompano Beach stop will be the final WSOPC event of January, setting the stage for three more thrilling festivals throughout February. With high guarantees, fierce competition, and an electric atmosphere, this stop is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the 2024/2025 WSOP Circuit season.

    Get Ready for the Action!

With just weeks to go, players are already strategizing and planning their schedules for WSOPC Harrah’s Pompano Beach. Whether you’re a seasoned professional chasing a ring or a recreational player looking for an unforgettable poker experience, this festival promises something for everyone.

Mark your calendars, sharpen your skills, and get ready to battle it out on the felt at one of the most exciting poker festivals of the year!
