The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) has officially begun its 2025 season, with the Choctaw Durant in Oklahoma hosting the first festival of the year. The excitement started today, January 5, with Day 1A of Event #1: $250 Seniors Event, setting the stage for an electrifying poker series.
A Gold Ring for Every Champion
This year’s Choctaw Durant festival features 18 thrilling events, each offering the coveted WSOP Circuit gold ring to its champion. The action-packed schedule runs until January 19, culminating in Event #18: $250 No-Limit Hold’em – The Finale, ensuring nonstop poker for players of all skill levels.
With affordable buy-ins starting at $250, the festival promises accessibility and diversity. Highlights include:
- $400 and $1,000 Monster Stack events
- $600 Escalating Bounty event
- $500 Gargantuan with a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool
- The marquee $1,700 Main Event, boasting a massive $1,000,000 guarantee, with two Day 1 flights on January 17 and 18.
Can History Repeat Itself?
Last year, the November edition of the WSOPC Choctaw Durant Main Event saw Phillip Bertram emerge victorious from a field of 1,017 entries, earning $237,307. Runner-up Zachary Baron pocketed an impressive $158,217. While January’s turnout might not match November’s numbers, a strong crowd is expected to compete for the million-dollar prize pool.
Looking Ahead
This festival marks the beginning of 13 WSOP Circuit stops scheduled through May 2025. Next up, players can head to the WSOPC Thunder Valley in California, starting January 16. The Circuit will then travel across the U.S., visiting iconic venues like Horseshoe casinos in Mississippi and Maryland, and Harrah’s casinos in North Carolina and Florida.
If you’re near the Choctaw Durant, now’s your chance to claim a WSOPC gold ring and make poker history. Don’t miss out!
