Estonia’s Vladimir Korzinin, a mysterious newcomer with a distinctive white beard and an unconventional style, continues to stun the poker world. In his latest achievement, he dominated the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Monte Carlo, securing $4,350,000 in the $150,000 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed event. This was his second seven-figure score within a week.

Korzinin topped a challenging field of 122 entrants, defeating notable players like Stephen Chidwick, Fedor Holz, and Bryn Kenney—who made headlines earlier in the series as the first player to exceed $70 million in live earnings after his own $125,000 Main Event victory.

Just days earlier, Korzinin had finished runner-up to the legendary Patrik Antonius in the $200,000 Triton Invitational, netting him $3.4 million—a brief career-high. His debut Hendon Mob entry was a third-place finish at the recent European Poker Tour (EPT) in Cyprus, marking an exceptional rise for this high-stakes newcomer.

    Newcomers Shine in Monte Carlo

In a field packed with poker heavyweights, the final heads-up showdown featured two relative newcomers—Korzinin and Finnish player Ossi Ketola. Korzinin’s unconventional play and sage-like presence quickly endeared him to Triton’s viewers, with fans and commentators alike dubbing him “Gambledore” and “The Wizard.”

Comments poured in across social media as fans embraced the mystique surrounding Korzinin. Drew “BetOnDrew” Gonzalez summed it up on X, saying, “I haven’t had more fun watching poker.”

Despite his newfound fame, Korzinin has remained elusive, consistently declining interviews throughout the series. After his win, he simply remarked that he “had no words” to describe the moment.

The Triton Poker Series in Monte Carlo runs from November 1-14, with the series concluding in a $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) Bounty event and a $100,000 PLO event currently underway.
