The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise and Triton Poker Series joined forces for the thrilling Triton Million event—a unique $500,000 buy-in tournament that pairs poker pros with their invitees. With a field of 74 players (37 pairs), the action kicked off in high gear, delivering an unbelievable twist on the very first hand!
The First-Hand Showdown
In Level 1 (2,000/3,000/3,000), Sinan Unlu opened the betting with 7,000. But the real fireworks began when Jared Bleznick, a sports card businessman, three-bet to 25,000. Enter David Einhorn, an invitee who partnered with poker pro Taylor von Kriegenbergh. From the small blind, Einhorn four-bet to 77,000, forcing Unlu out of the hand.
Bleznick wasn’t backing down—he five-bet to 225,000. Einhorn responded with a massive six-bet shove for his full stack of 1,000,000. Bleznick snap-called, and just like that, the first hand of the tournament turned into an all-in spectacle!
The Cards:
- Jared Bleznick: A♠ A♦ (Pocket Aces)
- David Einhorn: A♣ K♦ (Ace-King)
With Einhorn already in trouble against Bleznick’s pocket rockets, the flop came 8♠ K♣ 2♣, giving Einhorn a pair of kings and a glimmer of hope with a backdoor flush draw.
The turn, however, brought an 8♥, leaving Einhorn with just one out—a king—to survive. But the river was the 7♠, sealing Einhorn’s fate and doubling up Bleznick. Einhorn was eliminated in spectacular fashion on the very first hand.
Bleznick’s Winning Streak
Jared Bleznick is having a dream run in poker lately. This summer, he captured his first WSOP gold bracelet in the $50,000 High Roller event, bagging an impressive $2,037,947. In October 2023, he claimed the $100,000 Super High Roller Bowl PLO title for another $1,292,000. Adding to his streak, he defeated Poker Hall of Famer Patrik Antonius in three straight rounds of High Stakes Duel 5.
