In a thrilling announcement, Nick Schulman, the poker legend recently inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame, is officially confirmed for the $100K No-Limit Hold’em Invitational at the Onyx Super High Roller Series (SHRS). The 13-event series is set to take place at the luxurious Merit Royal Diamond Hotel in North Cyprus, running from August 9 to 21, 2025. With a staggering $19 million in guarantees, the event is expected to draw top poker players from across the globe.

The Onyx SHRS boasts a variety of high-stakes tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Among these, the two biggest tournaments are the Invitationals. A Unique Format

As per the tournament format, entry is restricted to pairs of players, with one VIP and one pro per pairing. The invitational concept follows the model of the Triton Poker series, known for its exclusive and high-calibre fields. The confirmed pairs for the $100K NLH Invitational include:

    • Rob Yong (VIP) & Mikita Badziakouski (Pro)
    • Maher Nouria (VIP) & Mehdi Chaoui (Pro)
    • Sinan Unlu (VIP) & Matthias Eibinger (Pro)
    • Eric Wasserson (VIP) & Nick Schulman (Pro)

Schulman’s participation alongside Eric Wasserson, a $25K Fantasy owner and player, has added a special flair to the event. Wasserson, known for letting a huge lead slip away in a recent tournament, will be looking to redeem himself alongside the Poker Hall of Famer. The pairing of Wasserson and Schulman is sure to turn heads as they go head-to-head with other elite teams.

Onyx SHRS: The Road to the Player of the Series

In an exciting twist, the Onyx SHRS has partnered with Triton Poker to offer a $110,000 package to Triton Jeju for the Player of the Series. Players will earn points for each open event they participate in, with the player who accumulates the most points earning a $100K buy-in and a $10K travel package to Triton Jeju. However, the two Invitational events, including the $100K NLH Invitational featuring Nick Schulman, are not included in the points promotion.
