Poker Dream 13 Malaysia: Nishant Sharma ’s Unstoppable Streak

Nishant Sharma’s win at Poker Dream 13 Malaysia is more than just another notch on his poker belt. It’s a testament to his skill, consistency, and rising dominance in the South Asian poker circuit. Following an amazing run at APT Phu Quoc 2024, a group of Indian poker players made waves in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, and Sharma has been leading the charge. In the first five days of the tournament series, the Indian contingent amassed 22 cash finishes, including two final tables and now two significant wins.

This victory in Event #16 marks the pinnacle of a sensational streak for Sharma. Just days earlier, he claimed the title in Event #14: MYR 2,000 Pot Limit Omaha, grabbing his first-ever live PLO title and MYR 23,200 (~₹4.35 Lakhs). Two days after that, he conquered the competitive field in the MYR 1 Billion GTD Mystery Bounty, claiming the lion’s share of the MYR 1.184 Billion prize pool. It’s clear that Sharma is in top form and showing no signs of slowing down.

Sharma’s Growing Earnings and Unmatched Poker Legacy

This isn’t Sharma’s first time dominating the Poker Dream series. In fact, this win at Poker Dream 13 Malaysia is his seventh live title, and his fourth Poker Dream victory in recent months. His impressive win streak began back in May 2024 at Poker Dream 10 Vietnam, where he took down the Main Event for a staggering VN₫ 3.757 Billion (~₹1.23 Crores). Sharma further cemented his legendary status by defending his title at Poker Dream 11 Malaysia, securing MYR 811,629 (~₹1.53 Crores) – his second-largest live score.

Nishant Sharma’s journey into the global poker spotlight began in 2018, when he made an incredible 34th-place finish in the WSOP Main Event. This achievement remains the second-best performance by an Indian player in this prestigious event. Now, with over ₹9.67 Crores in live winnings, Sharma has climbed to #9 on India’s all-time money list, surpassing Kunal Patni, who holds ₹9.48 Crores. His rise continues to inspire poker players across India and the world.

Indian Poker Dominance at Poker Dream 13 Malaysia

While Nishant Sharma remains the star of the show, he’s not the only Indian player making waves in Poker Dream 13 Malaysia. Several players from the Indian poker scene have been showcasing their talent, adding to the country’s impressive tally in the series.

Nikhil Kedia, a rising star, made a strong showing in Event #9: MYR 15,000 High Roller, finishing fourth and claiming MYR 141,000 (~₹26.62 Lakhs). Although Shengnan Wang took home the title and MYR 387,000, Kedia proved he’s a force to be reckoned with in high-stakes poker.

Other notable performances include Gagandeep Singh Malik, who finished 12th in Event #16, adding MYR 12,400 (~₹2.34 Lakhs) to his earnings. Additionally, Hari Rajeev Varma (36th), Harsh Dembla (72nd), Amit Kaushik (77th), and Somashekar Kurkhepally Mahadeva (84th) all contributed to India’s impressive poker showing at the tournament.

Nishant Sharma ’s Poker Dream Legacy Continues

As Poker Dream 13 Malaysia heads toward its Main Event, the poker community is eager to see if Nishant Sharma can continue his remarkable run. With MYR 366,278 (~₹69.08 Lakhs) in total winnings so far, Sharma is in prime position to overtake Raghav Bansal (₹10.08 Crores) and climb further up the ranks of India’s all-time poker money list.

The big question on everyone’s mind: Can Sharma defend his title in the Poker Dream Main Event and make history with his third victory?

Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure – Nishant Sharma is not just participating in Poker Dream 13 Malaysia; he’s making history and proving that he is one of the most dominant players in the game today.

Final Table Results of Event #16: MYR 3,000 Mystery Bounty (Excluding Bounties)

    • Nishant Sharma – MYR 225,000
    • Peng Chan – MYR 137,406
    • Pingfeng Wu – MYR 98,000
    • Motuan Chen – MYR 74,200
    • Ern Hsien Lew – MYR 59,100
    • Xintian Zou – MYR 45,300
    • Peongkang Kim – MYR 32,800
    • Yuan Choong Eng – MYR 22,400

Conclusion: A Rising Star in Poker

Nishant Sharma’s dominance at Poker Dream 13 Malaysia cements his status as one of India’s top poker players. With a legendary track record that continues to grow, he is proving that his Poker Dream dynasty is here to stay. The future of Indian poker looks incredibly bright, with players like Sharma leading the charge and raising the bar for others to follow.
