    Incident Details

On January 13, 2025, Tsoukernik was found unconscious at his residence in Chodová Planá, Czechia. Emergency responders transported him via airlift to a nearby hospital. Authorities suspect the involvement of propofol, a potent anesthetic, and are investigating potential illegal activity. Police spokesperson Iva Vršecká stated, “Criminal proceedings on suspicion of grievous bodily harm have been initiated.”

    Tsoukernik’s Legacy in Poker

Tsoukernik is a towering figure in poker history. Born in Russia and later settling in the Czech Republic, he transformed King’s Resort in Rozvadov into a global poker destination, hosting iconic events such as the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) since 2017. Known for its unparalleled facilities, the resort boasts the largest poker room in Europe.

In 2024, Tsoukernik sold his €400 million stake in King’s Resort to focus on philanthropy and personal ventures, including a project to build a synagogue in Mariánské Lázně, showcasing his commitment to cultural preservation.

    A Distinguished Poker Career

Aside from his business success, Tsoukernik is an accomplished poker player. With nearly $5.5 million in live tournament earnings, his fearless gameplay has earned him respect worldwide. Among his standout achievements is defeating poker legend Phil Ivey in the 2019 WSOPE €100,000 Short Deck event, earning €1,102,000.

    Community Reaction and Investigation

The poker community has expressed an outpouring of support and concern for Tsoukernik. Fellow players and fans have shared tributes, with one prominent professional stating, “Leon has done so much for poker. We’re all praying for his recovery.”

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, though details remain sparse.

    A Legacy That Lives On

As the world anxiously awaits updates, Leon Tsoukernik’s contributions to poker remain indisputable. His efforts in revolutionizing the poker industry and his personal achievements have left an enduring impact.
