Montenegro’s “la.creme” delivered a masterclass in resilience and strategic play to clinch the $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event on 888poker. Emerging victorious over a competitive field of 934 entrants, “la.creme” not only earned the coveted title but also walked away with $8,993—capping off 2024 on a winning note.

While “la.creme’s” payout wasn’t the largest of the event, their grit and skill throughout the final table ensured they took home the glory of being the tournament champion.

Day 1 Highlights and Big Bounty Winners

The action-packed tournament kicked off on December 15, 2024, with 934 hopefuls battling for a share of the $100,000 prize pool and mystery bounties. By the time the final table was set, only eight players remained.

Brazil’s “irineu530” claimed the single largest prize of the event—an impressive $10,000 mystery bounty—despite finishing in 10th place. The UK’s “Popoj33” also grabbed a respectable $3,000 bounty before bowing out in 13th place.

    Final Table Drama Unfolds

The final table saw short-stacked players scrambling to stay in the mix while others tried to dominate the action.

    Early Exit for “sheshhhhhhhh”
Entering the final table with just six big blinds, “sheshhhhhhhh” couldn’t overcome the odds. Despite improving their chip count slightly, their flush draw shove with ten-seven of diamonds couldn’t crack “SayPlease’s” pocket fives, sending them out in eighth place.

    “VanessaCbet” Falls in Seventh
The first of two Brazilian contenders, “VanessaCbet,” suffered back-to-back blows. First, their ace-king of spades failed to hold against “MenosehMais’” pocket threes. Then, their ace-ten couldn’t overcome “la.creme’s” dominating ace-queen, forcing them to settle for seventh place.

Aces Cracked: “MenosehMais” Out in Sixth
The most brutal hand of the final table came just before the 30-minute mark. “MenosehMais” picked up pocket aces on the button and looked primed for a big double-up. After a raise from “niilasson” and a flat call from “la.creme,” “MenosehMais” shoved all-in. “la.creme” snap-called, and disaster struck when an eight landed on the turn, giving “la.creme” a set of eights to eliminate “MenosehMais.”

    “Datschi1” Sent Packing in Fifth
Just a few hands later, “Datschi1” found themselves all-in with pocket threes against “SayPlease’s” ace-queen. A queen on the flop sealed “Datschi1’s” fate, shrinking the field to four players.

    “Kombogg” Falls in Fourth Place
“Kombogg” was the next to hit the rail after an unfortunate clash with “la.creme.” Limping in from the small blind with queen-jack, “la.creme” called “Kombogg’s” raise with pocket sixes. The flop came ace-high, and a queen on the turn gave “la.creme” the lead. “Kombogg” shoved, only to see no help on the river.

    “niilasson” Crashes Out in Third
Finland’s “niilasson,” already a $3,000 bounty winner, fell shortly after “Kombogg.” Holding pocket aces, they min-raised and faced aggression from “SayPlease,” who held queen-three of hearts. A heart on the turn gave “SayPlease” a flush, and “niilasson” couldn’t recover, exiting in third place.

      Heads-Up Battle: “la.creme” vs. “SayPlease”

The final showdown began with chip stacks nearly even—“SayPlease” holding a slight lead with 7,068,872 chips to “la.creme’s” 6,941,128.

Early clashes tilted the momentum in “la.creme’s” favor, but “SayPlease” refused to back down. The tension culminated during the 60,000/120,000 level with a final, decisive hand.

      • “la.creme” limped into the pot.
      • “SayPlease” raised to 420,000.
      • “la.creme” responded with a re-raise to 720,000.
      • “SayPlease” shoved their remaining 1,667,556 chips with king-jack of diamonds.
      • “la.creme” snap-called with ace-ten, putting them in the lead.

The board ran out seven-high, and “SayPlease” found no help, securing “la.creme” the title and the final $8,993 prize.

      Tournament Recap

The $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event on 888poker delivered intense action, emotional swings, and thrilling upsets. While Brazil’s “irineu530” claimed the event’s largest single payout thanks to their $10,000 bounty, it was Montenegro’s “la.creme” who emerged as the ultimate champion.

By combining patience, timely aggression, and a little luck, “la.creme” outlasted 933 competitors to claim the crown—a fitting end to an unforgettable tournament.
