Artur Martirosian has proven his mettle once again, securing a second title at the Triton Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo 2024. The Russian poker phenom triumphed in Event #16: $25K PLO Turbo Bounty Quattro, earning a whopping $525,000, including $180,000 in bounties. This remarkable win solidifies his dominance at the series, where he earlier captured the $30K NLH Bounty Quattro title.

    A Stellar Triton Resume

Martirosian’s consistent performances in high-stakes poker continue to impress. With 23 cashes, six final tables, and now two titles in Triton events, he is rapidly climbing the ranks of Russia’s poker elite. His live tournament earnings now approach $18 million, with over $5.33 million coming from Triton events alone. Notably, he’s edging closer to Igor Kurganov, Russia’s all-time money leader with $18.95 million in career earnings.

    Event #16 Recap

The $25K PLO Turbo Bounty Quattro attracted 75 entries, generating a prize pool of $1.875 million, including $570,000 in bounties. Known for its fast-paced action and high rewards, this tournament drew some of the biggest names in poker.

The bubble was a dramatic affair, with India’s Santhosh Suvarna and Joni Jouhkimainen both falling victim to Dan Smith’s straight, propelling the tournament into the money. Suvarna, who had hoped for a strong finish, ended his series as the bubble boy but still recorded a solid showing with two prior cashes.

At the final table, the action was relentless:

    • Richard Gryko, a seasoned PLO expert, was the first to exit in 7th place after clashing with Ren Lin.
    • Ronny Kaiser and Michael Duek followed in quick succession, with Martirosian playing a pivotal role in both eliminations.
    • Ren Lin, who had been a dominant presence, fell in 4th place after losing a massive hand against Martirosian and Dan Smith.
    • Dan Smith’s aggressive play secured him 3rd place, leaving Martirosian and Isaac Haxton to battle it out heads-up.

    A Quick Heads-Up Victory

Martirosian entered heads-up play with a commanding 2:1 chip lead against Isaac Haxton. The match concluded swiftly, with Martirosian hitting a flush on the river to seal his victory. Haxton, despite his extraordinary consistency and 44 Triton cashes, continues to chase his first Triton title.

Martirosian’s Path to Player of the Year

With this victory, Martirosian cements his position as a front-runner for Triton’s Player of the Festival honors. His relentless pursuit of excellence and mastery in bounty quattro events make him a strong contender for the coveted Player of the Year title.

    What’s Next?

The Triton Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo concludes soon, but Martirosian’s stellar performances have already made a lasting impact. As he continues to chase records and titles, the poker world eagerly awaits his next move.
