After two weeks of thrilling action at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise came to an end, with Nick Schulman clinching victory in Event #15: $5,000 The Closer No-Limit Hold’em Bounty Turbo. Schulman defeated Ren Lin in a short heads-up match to secure his sixth WSOP bracelet and the $145,000 first-place prize.

    Tournament Highlights and Schulman’s Victory

The final event of the series attracted 238 players, building a prize pool of $1,190,000. Schulman’s heads-up victory over Lin sealed the deal in what was a swift and exciting finale. Schulman shared how important it was to have his wife and daughter present for the win, something that rarely happens since they don’t usually travel with him. “Having them here in the Bahamas was a special experience,” he said.

A Look Back at Day 2

Day 2 of the tournament began with 37 players vying for the top spot, but the quick pace of the game caused many familiar faces to be eliminated early. Players like Artur Martirosian, Michael Acevedo, Daniel Zack, Georgios Sotiropoulos, and Hossein Ensan all fell short of making the final table. Ebony Kenney, the Day 2 chip leader, reached the final table but was eliminated in tenth place after a double knockout, which also saw Sosia Jiang exit in ninth.

Final Table Showdown: Poker’s Elite Battle It Out

With 22 WSOP bracelets combined among the final seven players, the stage was set for an epic showdown. Schulman, starting as the second-highest chip leader, quickly made his presence felt by eliminating Samuel Mullur and Shaun Deeb in seventh and sixth place.

Schulman continued his dominance, knocking out Santhosh Suvarna in fifth place, and then sending Daniel Negreanu home in fourth. Schulman’s crucial win against Arkadiy Tsinis—where his ace-queen triumphed over Tsinis’ pocket threes—gave him a near two-to-one chip lead entering the heads-up round.

Heads-Up Play: Schulman Seals the Deal

The heads-up match didn’t take long to conclude. Schulman extended his lead early on, and in the final hand, Lin was all-in with queen-eight against Schulman’s ace-king. Schulman’s ace-high held strong, and he was crowned the champion of Event #15.

    Schulman Reflects on His Success

After his second No-Limit Hold’em bracelet win in 2024, Schulman reflected on his success, saying, “I love the game. I try to accept what I can’t control and focus on bettering myself. Poker is a mix of skill and luck, but I’m just taking it one day at a time.”
